From Small Town Survival to Purpose-Driven Impact (My Video Portfolio)

What happens when the life you were taught to want no longer fits? This short video captures the turning point.

I grew up in a quiet Midwestern river town where conformity was the only roadmap. But when my life unraveled, I chose to rebuild everything - from the ground up. I became the first in my family to earn a college degree, pushed through to a Ph.D., and left behind the safe, predictable path for a life defined by curiosity, challenge, and impact.

About Todd

Thank you for visiting. I'm Todd.

I’m an academic researcher and psychologist, and author of Confessions and the upcoming Rules of Engagement series. I earned my Ph.D. in Community Psychology and have spent nearly two decades in the world of research, higher education, applied psychology, and - closest to my heart - advocating for men.

The defining piece of my academic research was my doctoral dissertation: a full-scale empirical study on the psychological well-being of divorced fathers. More than a decade later, it remains one of the few studies of its kind.

But my determination to help men didn’t begin with research. It began within the pages of Confessions. The pain, confusion, and emotional fallout expressed in that book were so personal, yet so universal, that I became determined to bring data and evidence to what I had lived.

My writing and advising center on men’s identity, discipline, and emotional sovereignty. Confessions is an unfiltered exposé of post-divorce fatherhood, betrayal, and the social and legal degradation of fatherhood. After living it, I knew I couldn’t be the only one. That experience pushed me to do more than just survive...it drove me to study it. To build something men could actually use.

I write and advise from Florida, but my dedication is to men everywhere who are ready to reclaim clarity, strength, and direction.
